Membership Information

 

Membership Qualifications

To be considered for general membership with Silver Star you must, be a Washington or Oregon resident, attend 3 business meetings, have a current C.P.R. and First-Aid card, and pass a background check by the Clark County Sheriff's Department.  Once all of these conditions are met, you are eligible to be voted in by our current members.

All business meetings are held at our headquarters in Washougal, WA. Business meetings start at 6:00pm on the first Saturday of every month.  If the first Saturday is a holiday or falls on a holiday weekend, then the meeting will be held on the following Saturday.

Field Qualified Members

All members are considered probationary for the first year.  While you are a probationary member, you are allowed to go into the field only with field qualified members.  From the date you are voted in you have 1 year to complete and maintain the following training.
                 

  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Successful Background Check

  • Search & Rescue Techniques
  • Survival Techniques
  • Blood Borne Pathogens
  • Helicopter Safety
  • Radio Communications 
  • Crime Scene & Death
  • Map & Compass
  • FEMA NIMS courses: IS 100 (ICS) & IS 700 (NIMS)
