Membership QualificationsWe welcome team-minded individuals who have an interest in promoting public safety in the outdoors, and supporting base and communications functions during searches. We currently have 3 different member tracks - support role (base support, communications), Novice field responder, and Field-Qualified responder.
To be considered for general membership with Silver Star Search and Rescue you must attend 3 business meetings, have a current C.P.R. and First-Aid card, and pass a background check. Once all of these conditions are met, you are eligible to be voted in by our current members. Not sure if Search and Rescue is for you? Come by during our monthly business meeting to say hello and meet us. You are welcome to attend. Business meetings are held at: Armed Forces Reserve Center 15005 NE 65th St Vancouver, WA 98682 Meetings start at 7:00pm on the first Saturday of every month. If the first Saturday is a holiday or on a holiday weekend, then the meeting will be held on the following Saturday (please double-check our calendar). Field Qualified Members All members are considered probationary for the first year. While you are a probationary member, you are allowed to go into the field only with field qualified members. All field members must complete and maintain the following trainings or certifications to be permitted to respond to missions:
